We just returned from spending a month in the mid-west. A batch of mail awaited our return. I was astonished to find, in opening one of the letters, an old old picture. I suddenly realized this small photo had an important place in our heritage books. Grandpa Nelson's brother, Hans, was carrying this photo in his wallet when he died. It was given to Maxine, one of the granddaughters, who kept it stored away in a closet somewhere for ages. She sent it to me to see if I could identify those on the picture. Yes, it was identifiable! It was Grandpa Nelson, age about 15 ?, his brother Hans, and little brother Peder, with their parents. I'm so thrilled to get this photo.
